What to Expect at Your First Visit to a Dispensary

First Visit to a Dispensary Guide

Ah yes, the first time entering a dispensary.

Every cannabis enthusiast has been there before – you might feel excited, nervous, or mostly just curious. If you’re looking to enter the world of cannabis and don’t know where to start, this is for you.

Since the legalization of recreational marijuana, more people are being drawn to the plant for its many uses each year. Although it’s legal now, it still might feel intimating with all the complex names, vast selection, and various regulations. No need to stress though, Green has got you covered. Here’s what you can expect at your first visit to a dispensary:

Bring your I.D.

Be prepared to be carded when you walk into a dispensary. No matter your age, whether you’re 21 or 85, it is required by law to check your I.D. Acceptable forms include a state-issued driver’s license, I.D card, or passport. Additionally, they must be scannable and valid.

Research

Las Vegas is home to many cannabis dispensaries, and all range in the selection, quality, and price. Reading reviews will help you understand what you can expect from the products and customer service. At Green, it’s our mission to deliver the best cannabis experience. Therefore, we prioritize what matters most – our customer’s time, comfort, privacy, and product satisfaction.

With this philosophy, we’ve been able to help many customers with their needs. Don’t just take our word, though; read through the hundreds of reviews that have helped us earn a 4.5-star rating.

Something you may also want to consider is the experience you’re seeking. Will this be for some recreational relaxation or to treat pain? Do you want something that will energize you or help you calm down? Different strains will offer varying effects. If you’re not sure, that’s okay too. We have a team of amazing budtenders who will help you find your perfect product.

Know the laws

Take the time to familiarize yourself with Nevada’s marijuana laws. These regulations are set to help and protect both the consumer and the dispensary. Each state has different laws, but in Nevada, here is what you need to know:

  • You must be 21 years or older to purchase recreational marijuana.
  • For medical patients, you must be 18 years or older and have a valid medical marijuana card at the time of purchase.
  • You can only purchase up to one ounce of cannabis or 3.5 grams of concentrates during a single transaction. The same limits apply to how much one person can possess at any given time.
  • Smoking is only legal on private property you own, meaning it is illegal to smoke in public places. For example, it is unlawful to smoke in casinos, hotels, or clubs.
  • Driving while under the influence of cannabis is also illegal.

Ask questions

Our budtenders are trained to help answer any questions. The cannabis industry can be complex, so don’t be afraid to ask about cannabinoids, terpenes, or different consumption methods. Feel free to ask for recommendations or what’s most popular. Trust us; there are no stupid questions. We want you to have the experience you’re seeking, so ask away!

Payment options

When cannabis first became legalized in 2017, you could only purchase it with cash. While most dispensaries still follow this, Green offers debit options for extra convenience. If you still want to pay in cash, don’t worry, we also have ATMs in-store.

Already know what you want? You can skip the line at Green by using our in-store digital kiosks for express checkout. We even offer curbside pick-up and express delivery options, if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your home. Learn more about delivery options by reading our FAQs.

Don’t feel pressured

If you’re not feeling anything, do not feel pressured into buying. Even if it’s a product recommendation, there’s no need to spend your money on something you’re not excited to use. Simply say no thank you, and we’d be happy to continue working with you to find a better recommendation. If now is not the time, then it is also okay to leave without purchasing anything. We will always be here if you need anything else!

Leave a review

After your first visit to a dispensary, leave a review. This is one of the best ways you can help support a business. They help by letting other potential customers know what makes the company great. If you’ve had a chance to visit Green, please let us know how we did! Review us on Yelp, Google, or WeedMaps
